One of the freshest voices in the local pop music scene belongs to Lianna — both the person and the band. Lianna is the leader of a DC-based pop quartet of the same name and since its inception in 2003, the group has been nominated by the Washington Area Music Association as its "Best New Artist" for 2003, shared the stage with acts like Jonatha Brooke and Vienna Teng, and recorded two studio albums, the newest of which, From Here, was just released in March.
The 13 songs on From Here have a light and breezy sound that puts an extra emphasis on the strength of Lianna's lead vocals and songwriting. Backed by a solid group of instrumentalists, Lianna's short and sweet pop songs just make you happy to be listening.
